How can I set up a contest logbook after the contest has ended?
I logged on paper and now want to report to the Winter Field Day folks. I transcribed my QSOs into a regular WRL logbook and of course the WFD folks didn’t find the fields they expect in the XML.
I would like to create a WFD logbook, export my QSOs from the regular logbook, import into the WFD logbook and then edit the missing Exchange data manually.
I often log on paper and transcribe to WRL so I don’t have to mentally juggle the radio and the computer/phone at the same time. I’m sure I’ll get there eventually, but old dog new tricks you know.
@W4MUS We’ve manually created the contest logbook for you in your account since we no longer (currently) normally allow contest logbooks to be created after the contest is over.
When going into the contest logbook make sure you add your contest exchange in the ‘my exchange’ field under the log contact button before you export your logbook.
Good afternoon. I have the same situation, I manually logged my contacts thinking that I would then input/submit them later (similar to the POTA logging process). Is it still possible to me the submit my contacts, so my contacts get their credit? And if not, that is ok, I will just be more aware of the process next year. Thank you.
@W0CRB no worries as long as you submit your logs by 11:59 UTC on March 1 to the WFD site you’ll get credit. Let me reach out to the team and have them manually create your WFD logbook inside of your WRL account and then you can add your QSO’s to that logbook. Once the logbook is created just make sure you add your exchange to the ‘My Exchange"‘ field underneath the log contact button before you export your Cabrillo log.
I’ll reach back out after we’ve manually created your WFD contest logbook and you can get started adding your QSO’s.
